Chalkboard Decal Application Instructions

Surface Preparation

Chalkboard vinyl can be applied to most clean, smooth, & dry surfaces. Put them on your walls, doors, windows, mirrors, tile, sealed concrete, glass, smooth metal, and many other surfaces.

Do not apply to stucco, brick, or canvas type surfaces. Only apply to wallpaper if you want it to be permanent. Wall Decals stick very well to matte paint. More intricate designs may not adhere very well to semi or high gloss paints. Wait 3-4 weeks after painting before applying wall decals.

Peel the decal away from the backing paper. Apply the decal to the wall. Use your hand to remove any air bubbles. For larger decals the painter's tape hinge method works best. Apply 1/2 of the decal at a time. (see below)

Use with regular chalk or liquid chalk markers. Use a damp cloth or paper-towel to erase the chalk. Some brands of liquid chalk markers may be difficult to remove with water or ghosting may appear after erasing with water. An ammonia-based cleaner, such as Windex, can be used to remove stubborn liquid chalk.

Chalkboard Decal Removal

Chalkboard decals can be easily removed and reused. Chalkboard decals will not leave any residue on your surface when removed. Since we cannot guarantee the condition of all application surfaces, we cannot guarantee that some paint flecking will not occur.
